SACM inspects Muharram arrangements,directs removal of hazards from routes

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab (Inspection Team) Shoaib Mirza on Thursday said the safety and convenience of mourners remained the provincial government’s top priority, directing authorities to remove hanging wires, obstructions and other potential hazards from procession routes.

He expressed these views during a late-night inspection of Muharram security and administrative arrangements across Sargodha, where he reviewed facilities and security measures for religious gatherings and processions.

According to officials, the SACM was accompanied by Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Regional Police Officer Shehzad Ahmad Khan,Deputy Commissioner(DC),Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry and District Police Officer(DPO)Sohail Ashraf during visits to majalis venues and the Safe City Control Room.

During a visit to an imambargah in Block No 7,Mirza met mourners and organizers and reviewed arrangements including drinking water,sanitation,lighting,backup power supply and security deployment.

He also inspected sabeels arranged for participants.

Officials from the local administration, WASA and the Municipal Corporation briefed the delegation on procession routes, cleanliness operations, drainage arrangements and illumination measures.

The SACM directed authorities to ensure comprehensive cleanliness along procession routes and continue anti-encroachment operations without discrimination.

Later,the delegation visited the Safe City Control Room, where officials briefed them on surveillance systems, installation of additional cameras,monitoring mechanisms and security protocols for Muharram.

He reviewed staff preparedness, training and emergency response capabilities, saying that under the directives of Chief Minister(CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all available resources were being utilized to ensure foolproof security and public facilitation during Muharram.

He further stressed improved inter-departmental coordination,enhanced monitoring of majalis and processions and maintaining a high level of readiness to respond to any emergency situation.
