SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Mian Anjum Nisar inaugurated the Mian Nisar Elahi Pharmacy Labs here at Forman Christian College (FCCU) on Wednesday

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vice President Mian Anjum Nisar inaugurated the Mian Nisar Elahi Pharmacy Labs here at Forman Christian College (FCCU) on Wednesday.

On this occasion, he also presented a cheque to FCCU Rector Jonathan Addleton for the institution.

Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheemur Rehman Saigol attended the ceremony as a special guest, while LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, Mian Tariq Nisar, Mian Nadeem Nisar, Nasrullah Mughal, Shouban Akhtar and a large number of prominent personalities from the business and education sectors were also present. The participants termed this initiative an important step towards strengthening cooperation between academia and industry.

In his address, Mian Anjum Nisar said that his father had a deep attachment with FCCU and considered it an important institution for the promotion of quality education in the country. He said that these modern pharmacy labs have been established in his father’s name to carry forward his educational vision and to provide students with better opportunities for practical training and research.

He further said that in today’s world, pharmaceutical education is no longer limited to theoretical knowledge, and modern research facilities and practical exposure have become essential.

The establishment of Mian Nisar Elahi Pharmacy Labs will provide students with a laboratory environment in line with international standards, enabling them to enhance their academic capabilities and play an effective role in the healthcare sector in the future.

Mian Anjum Nisar said that investing in education is, in fact, investing in the future of the nation. He expressed his commitment that the private sector will continue to collaborate with educational institutions to equip the younger generation with research skills, innovation and professional expertise.

FCCU Rector Jonathan Addleton appreciated the contributions of Mian Anjum Nisar and his family towards the education sector and said that such initiatives not only strengthen institutional capacity but also help students align themselves with modern scientific requirements. He added that the establishment of these labs is an important milestone for FCCU and will provide students with opportunities for research and learning in accordance with global standards.

He added that these labs will enable pharmacy students to access modern equipment and technology, allowing them to apply their knowledge in practical settings and contribute to innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. This initiative will also help promote stronger linkages between academia and industry, supporting a culture of research and development in the country.
