ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khorev addressed members of the Pakistani media and academic community here on Tuesday, outlining Russia’s views on the ongoing conflict and related international developments.
The media briefing was focused on Russia’s position on the war in Ukraine, regional energy security, Western disinformation campaigns, described by Moscow.
Ambassador Khorev highlighted Russia’s efforts at the international level against the glorification of Nazism. He referred to a resolution presented every year at the United Nations General Assembly and noted Pakistan’s continued support for the measure. The ambassador also discussed Russia’s peace proposals linked to the Ukraine conflict.
He claimed that the government in Kyiv was continuing the fighting instead of moving towards a settlement. He further raised concerns about forced military mobilization in Ukraine and referred to corruption allegations involving people close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He also condemned attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure, including the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines. Such incidents created risks for regional energy supplies and security, he said.
A major part of the discussion focused on allegations related to the Bucha killings and claims regarding Ukrainian children transferred during the conflict. Ambassador Khorev rejected these accusations and said Russia was working to reunite families separated by the war on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine border.
The event also included the presentation of the book Militia Romance by Zakhar Prilepin. The book covers the experiences of residents of Donbas following the events of 2014.
