KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Chief Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Public Services (RTS) Commission Muhammad Ali Shehzada on Tuesday stressed the need for timely and quality public service delivery, saying it remained a top priority of the provincial government.

Chairing a meeting of heads of government departments at the camp office of the Deputy Commissioner in Kohat, Shehzada reviewed the implementation of the Right to Public Services Act. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir and senior officials from relevant departments attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening awareness of the law and clarifying departmental responsibilities.

Addressing the participants, the chief commissioner said designated officers were legally bound to provide notified public services within the prescribed timeframe.

He said citizens had the right to file complaints and appeals if services were delayed, and urged officers and appellate authorities to perform their duties with transparency, accountability and integrity.

Shehzada said the RTS Act was aimed at promoting transparent governance, improving accountability and strengthening public confidence in government institutions. He directed departments to strictly observe service timelines, promptly address public complaints and ensure effective grievance redressal mechanisms.

Officials were also briefed on service delivery standards, accountability mechanisms and citizens' legal rights under the RTS Act. Departmental heads assured full cooperation in implementing the law and pledged to ensure timely, transparent and lawful public service delivery.
