RTA conducts crackdown against public transport overcharging

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) On the directives of Sindh Senior Minister for Transport and Information, Sharjeel Inam Memon, a major crackdown was launched on Monday against public transport overcharging on the eve of Eid ul Fitr.

The operation was led by Secretary of Transport and Mass Transit (T&MTD), Asad Zamin, and Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad, Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, in collaboration with the Motorway Police.

According to details, a total of 43 vehicles were inspected and imposing fines Rs. 210,000. Furthermore, in a significant relief for commuters, Rs. 252,000 was recovered from transporters and returned to the overcharged passengers on the spot.
