Rs9.5 billion uplift package reshaping Jaranwala: Commissioner

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen said that a massive Rs9.5 billion public welfare package is being executed at a fast pace in Jaranwala as multiple projects are near completion to resolve long-standing sewerage and urban infrastructure issues of this area.

She was presiding over a review meeting at Municipal Committee office during her visit to Tehsil Jaranwala.

She directed the officers to accelerate implementation on all programs and ensure timely completion of the remaining sewerage rehabilitation work to provide maximum relief to the citizens.

She stressed that visible progress must be ensured under the Suthra Punjab program, directing the authorities to conduct ground surveys of waste containers and enforce penalties on contractors in case of deficiencies.

She also ordered expediting disposal of pending revenue cases and enhancing recovery of dues including water rates and agricultural income tax.

Assigning a one-month deadline, she directed completion of digitization of land records and scanning of mutations in addition to reviewing progress on the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” program.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Jaranwala Aurangzeb Goraya briefed the meeting about administrative arrangements and progress on development schemes.

Chief Officers of Jaranwala and Khurarianwala, tehsil manager of Suthra Punjab program, Assistant Director Local Government and Deputy District Health Officer were also present on the occasion.

The officials informed that out of 10 schemes under the Punjab Cities Program, seven had been completed including procurement of essential machinery while work on the remaining three projects was in full swing.

The initiatives include upgradation of sewerage systems, establishment of disposal stations and construction of a wastewater treatment plant, which will ensure that no street in Jaranwala remains deprived of standard sewerage facilities.

Under the Punjab Development Program, six development packages are also being completed, covering sewerage networks, storm water drains, installation of tuff tiles and upgradation of parks and other public amenities, AC Jaranwala added.
