Rs4.4 m scholarships distributed among labourers

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Layyah, Asif Ali distributed cheques worth Rs4.4 million among 40 labourers under the Talent Scholarship Scheme launched by the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.

The cheque distribution ceremony was held at the DC Office here on Thursday. The financial assistance is aimed at supporting the education of children of labourers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that promoting education among underprivileged children was a noble objective of the incumbent government.

He added that the government was making all-out efforts to ensure the welfare and better future of needy children.

He said the Talent Scholarship Scheme was part of a broader initiative to empower the lower strata of society through education.

The DC congratulated the recipients of the scholarships and expressed hope that they would achieve success in their educational careers and future lives.
