Rs1.48 billion disbursed to 148,030 families under Ramadan Nigehban Card Scheme

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) The divisional administration has disbursed Rs.1.48 billion among 148,030 deserving families through “Ramadan Nigehban Cards” while each family received Rs10,000 in a fair and transparent manner.

During a briefing, Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that total 304,834 families across the division would be provided financial assistance.

Giving some dtails, he said that in Faisalabad district, 66,128 families out of 143,993 registered beneficiaries have received the cards while 38,264 out of 77,084 families in Jhang, 21,790 out of 46,107 in Toba Tek Singh and 21,848 out of 37,650 deserving households in Chiniot have so far been facilitated under this scheme at their doorsteps.

He said that the administration has ensured transparency and efficiency in the distribution process to provide timely relief to low-income families during Ramadan.

He said that Ramadan Bazaars across the division are offering essential commodities including flour, sugar, gram flour, pulses, fruits, vegetables and chicken at 15 percent lower rates than their prices in the open market while ample stock of these commodities is available for facilitation of general public.

He said that the administration, price control magistrates and enforcement teams are active in the open market to ensure availability of essential items at officially notified rates.
