RPO visits Rajanpur, reviews law & order situation

RAJANPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Azhar Akram paid visit to the local district and reviewed the overall law and order situation.

Upon his arrival at the District Police Office, a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honor to the RPO.

Under the Punjab government’s open-door policy, the RPO held an open court at the DPO Office where he listened to public complaints and issued on-the-spot directions to the relevant officers to resolve the issues on merit.

Later, he chaired a crime meeting attended by all circle officers, SHOs and investigation officers of the district. During the meeting, the RPO reviewed the overall crime situation including murder, dacoity-cum-murder, rape, kidnapping and other heinous cases.

He also reviewed investigations into oil theft and cases involving surrendered katcha criminals.

The RPO directed officers to complete investigations of cases related to surrendered katcha criminals on merit and submit challans to the courts without delay.

During the visit, Muhammad Azhar Akram also inspected the DPO office and checked various branches to ensure timely completion of records as well as transparency and accuracy.

He also met the families of police martyrs of Rajanpur who had embraced martyrdom before 2017 and distributed financial assistance cheques to support the construction of their houses.

During his visit, the RPO held a meeting with members of the peace committee, traders’ association and representatives of the legal fraternity in view of the prevailing national situation.

Members of the peace committee assured the RPO of their full cooperation in promoting sectarian harmony, interfaith tolerance and maintaining peace in the area.
