RPO orders strict action against illegal foreign nationals in Rawalpindi Region

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani has directed strict legal action against illegal foreign nationals residing in the region.

He issued these instructions while chairing the monthly meeting of the Regional Police Coordination Committee (RPCC) at Police Lines Headquarters.

The meeting was attended by all District Police Officers via video link, while unit heads also participated.

The overall law and order situation, policing performance, and future strategy were reviewed in detail.

The RPO ordered that all illegal foreign nationals be dealt with in accordance with the law.

He also stressed the need to enhance security arrangements for Chinese and other foreign nationals working on CPEC and non-CPEC projects.

Directing officers to remain vigilant, he emphasized strict checking at inter-provincial and inter-district checkpoints and ordered senior officers to personally brief and inspect deployed staff.

He further instructed that passenger registration at all bus terminals must be ensured without exception.

Search, combing, and intelligence-based operations will be intensified with the support of other law enforcement agencies. The RPO also called for a fresh review of security arrangements for important installations across the region.

Special security and traffic plans will be implemented during Ramazan to facilitate Taraweeh prayers, worshippers, and shoppers in markets.

He also directed immediate action on complaints received through the complaint portal.

“Protection of citizens’ life and property remains our top priority,” he said, adding that the Rawalpindi Region Police is on high alert to tackle any untoward incident in view of the current situation.
