RPO Irfan Tariq rallies force at Kohat Darbar, urges vigilance and swift justice

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) A comprehensive police darbar was held at the Police Lines Kohat on Thursday under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Kohat, Irfan Tariq. District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat Shehbaz Elahi, along with SPs, DSPs, SHOs, lady police officials, traffic wardens and personnel from various wings, attended the gathering in large numbers. The session, held in a disciplined and focused atmosphere, brought together officers from across the district to deliberate on professional responsibilities and emerging challenges.

Addressing the participants, RPO Irfan Tariq said the war against terrorism was still ongoing; moreover, he noted that officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, particularly in the Kohat region, had rendered unparalleled sacrifices. He described police martyrs as the pride of the force and an invaluable asset whose sacrifices would always be remembered.

Furthermore, he reaffirmed that the mission of the martyrs would be carried forward steadfastly and collectively; indeed, he stressed that unity and courage remained the cornerstone of effective policing in difficult times.

In view of the prevailing security situation, the RPO directed all personnel to remain constantly vigilant; therefore, he warned that negligence in the line of duty would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

At the same time, he emphasized that the lives of officers and jawans were extremely precious and that their safety was the department’s top priority.

Consequently, strict compliance with all security SOPs was ordered, and officers were instructed to respond to public complaints promptly and effectively. Meanwhile, he underlined that courteous conduct and merit-based decisions were essential for building public trust, which, in turn, strengthens law enforcement.

During the interactive session, officers presented their professional and welfare-related concerns, which the RPO heard attentively; subsequently, he issued on-the-spot directives for their resolution. He assured the force that welfare initiatives and capacity-building measures would continue consistently, thus enhancing operational readiness. In recognition of outstanding performance, commendation certificates and cash prizes were awarded.

The ceremony concluded with a special prayer for national security and lasting peace, as well as for the elevation of ranks of police martyrs.
