NARAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) After a gap of more than five months, work has officially begun to reopen the road leading to the famous tourist destination, Lake Saif-ul-Malook. Authorities have so far cleared around 7 kilometers of the road, with operations continuing at pace.

According to details, on the instructions of Director General Kaghan Development Authority, Rahmat Ali, practical steps have been initiated to restore tourist access to the lake, located at an altitude of 10,578 feet. Heavy machinery is being used to remove snow, glaciers, and other obstructions.

KDA Building Inspector Zeeshan Khan informed the media that the approximately 11-kilometer road from Naran to the lake contains six glaciers along with multiple blockages.

So far, about seven kilometers have been cleared, and if weather conditions remain favorable, the road is expected to reopen for four-wheel drive vehicles within a week.

Currently, the lake remains fully frozen, surrounded by snow-covered mountains, offering breathtaking views even during the clearance operation. Officials believe that reopening the route will significantly boost tourist inflow, as Lake Saif-ul-Malook remains one of Pakistan’s most popular destinations for both domestic and international visitors, contributing to increased local economic activity.
