Rickshaw entry banned in Cantt from 20th Ramazan

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) In view of increasing crowds ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr and rising security concerns, the administration has approved a special traffic and security plan for Peshawar Cantt, under which the entry of rickshaws will be banned from the 20th of Ramazan.

According to official report on Wednesday, special arrangements have been initiated in Peshawar Cantt and other busy markets of the city to manage the surge in shoppers during the Eid season. To prevent severe traffic congestion and ensure public safety, authorities have devised a plan to regulate vehicle entry at various access points to the cantonment area after the 20th of Ramazan.

Officials have also issued directives for enhanced vehicle monitoring due to security considerations. Strict action will be taken against illegal rickshaws and law enforcement personnel will be deployed across Peshawar Cantt, inner-city markets and major commercial centers.

The administration stated that these measures aim at protecting citizens from traffic disruptions and potential security threats during Eid shopping and to maintain better order across the city.
