Rickshaw driver returns lost cash, another case Kohat police arrest suspect uploading drug-use videos

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) A rickshaw driver in Kohat set an inspiring example of honesty by returning a large sum of money forgotten by a passenger, police said on Wednesday.

According to police spokesman, a citizen accidentally left Rs 600,000 in the rickshaw while travelling.

The driver, instead of misappropriating the amount, immediately contacted the local police station and handed over the entire sum.

Upon learning of the incident, DPO Kohat Shehbaz Elahi invited the rickshaw driver to his office, appreciated his integrity, and termed him a role model for society.

The DPO awarded him a cash prize and a commendation certificate, stating that encouraging such individuals promotes positive values in the community. He added that Kohat Police would continue to honour citizens who demonstrate honesty, lawfulness, and public service.

In a separate action, Kohat Police arrested a man for recording and uploading videos of himself consuming narcotic tablets on social media platforms, including TikTok. The DPO took strict notice of the videos and directed immediate action.

Following the instructions, SHO City Rauf Khan and his team conducted a targeted operation and arrested the suspect. Police said the accused had been regularly filming himself while using intoxicating tablets and sharing the content online.

The DPO reiterated that strict measures under a zero-tolerance policy would continue against individuals promoting drug use, adding that such actions were essential to protect the youth from harmful influences.

Further investigations in both cases are underway.
