MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) A Revenue department team and police personnel came under attack during an anti-encroachment operation in the limits of Chobara Police Station, Chak No. 364, Layyah.
Police have registered a case against 23 suspects, including 14 women, on charges of assaulting government officials and obstructing official duties.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), Revenue Girdawar Chaudhry Riaz, accompanied by Patwari Muhammad Ashraf, police constables Qamar-uz-Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Ziaullah, and Lady Constable Najma Bibi, was carrying out land demarcation and eviction proceedings when a group of alleged illegal occupants attacked the team.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The FIR states that the assailants, armed with sticks and firearms, allegedly abused the officials, issued death threats, and forcibly snatched cash from the pockets of the government personnel during the attack.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of Girdawar Chaudhry Riaz against nine nominated women, five unidentified women, and nine nominated men under Sections 506, 148, 149, 382, 353, and 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway, police said.
