Revenue officers conducted surprise visits to markets across all talukas of district SBA on the first day of Ramazan, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Revenue officers conducted surprise visits to markets across all talukas of district SBA on the first day of Ramazan, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani. During visits, officials reviewed the prices of essential commodities, checked the prominent display of rate lists, and ensured implementation of officially notified price lists. Action was taken against profiteers, with a total fine of Rs14,500 imposed, while several shopkeepers were issued warnings.

Assistant Commissioner Nawabshah, Iqbal Ahmed Tunio, imposed a fine of Rs5,000 on profiteers, while Assistant Commissioner Daur, Muhammad Zakir, imposed Rs5,500 in fines. Assistant Commissioner Sakrand, Rameez Raja, fined violators Rs2,000, and Assistant Mukhtiarkar Qazi Ahmed also imposed a fine of Rs2,000 on profiteers.

Deputy Commissioner made it clear that violations of official price lists would not be tolerated under any circumstances and that indiscriminate action against profiteers would continue. He also appealed public to immediately contact relevant taluka administration or complaint cell in case of overcharging so that responsible individuals could be dealt with accordingly.

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Deputy Commissioner, Meat Inspector Dr. Aziz Dahri inspected various meat shops and pushcarts in the city to examine quality and pricing of meat and fish.
