KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that resolving the issues of the minority community is among the top priorities of the Sindh Government and that serving the public without discrimination is a fundamental manifesto of the Pakistan People’s Party.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a minority delegation comprising town and city councilors affiliated with the party on Wednesday.

The delegation was led by Lal Chand Ukhrani, President of PPP Minority Wing Sindh. Arslan Sheikh, Mayor of Sukkur, and Member of the Provincial Assembly Asif Musa were also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, minority representatives gave a detailed briefing on the issues faced in their respective areas, particularly regarding water supply, improvement of the sewerage system, construction and repair of roads and streets, streetlights, and sanitation.

They also complained about a lack of cooperation from some town chairmen. The delegation demanded that minority councilors be empowered at the local government level and that development funds be distributed fairly.

Taking immediate notice of the issues, the Provincial Minister issued on-the-spot telephonic instructions to the relevant town chairmen and made it clear that areas with minority populations would not be neglected in development schemes. He directed all councilors to submit priority lists of ongoing and proposed development projects in their areas to the Local Government Department so that funds could be released in phases.
