Strong wishlist numbers pushed the title to the top of steam upcoming games list

Resident Evil Veronica has reached a major early success after gaining 1 million wishlists across Steam and PlayStation platforms.

The milestone comes shortly after its reveal at Summer Game Fest and shows strong global interest in the upcoming survival horror game planned for 2027.

Capcom confirmed the achievement through its official channels. The company said the game has attracted huge attention from players on multiple platforms, including PC and PlayStation 5. The game also recently opened its listing on the Xbox Store, which is expected to increase interest even more.

The strong wishlist numbers pushed the title to the top of steam upcoming games list. Industry watchers say this level of early demand is rare, especially for a game that is still years away from release.

Developers have shared early details about the game’s design. Resident Evil Veronica will use a fixed third-person camera view. It will not include a first-person option like some recent Resident Evil titles.

The game will follow a more traditional survival horror style. Players will need to manage limited resources and focus on survival rather than advanced combat skills. The story takes place shortly after Claire Redfield escape from Raccoon City, which explains her more vulnerable and inexperienced state in the game.

Capcom is also using its RE engine to build the game, the same technology used in recent successful remakes. The development team behind Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 remakes is also working on this project.

With strong early interest and a popular franchise behind it, Resident Evil Veronica is already shaping up to be one of Capcom most anticipated releases for 2027.
