MALAKAND, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Rescue 1122 Malakand has placed all its emergency response teams on high alert following forecasts of thunderstorms, strong winds and rain in several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malakand district.
Officials said the precautionary measures were taken in response to a weather advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting unstable weather conditions and possible hailstorms during the next several hours.
On the directives of District Emergency Officer Nasir Khan, rescue personnel and emergency equipment have been readied to respond swiftly to any rain-related emergencies or accidents.

Citizens were urged to stay away from weak structures, electricity installations, trees and signboards that could pose risks during strong winds.
The rescue service also warned people against visiting rivers, streams and other waterways due to the possibility of sudden flooding or dangerous currents.
Residents were asked to immediately report emergencies through the Rescue 1122 helpline to ensure prompt assistance and response.
