Rescue 1122 finalizes Eid-ul-Azha emergency plan in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) The Rescue 1122 has finalized a comprehensive emergency response and contingency plan for upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, placing all rescue teams and allied departments on high alert to ensure timely and effective emergency services.

According to the Rescue 1122 spokesman, a high-level meeting regarding the special deployment and contingency arrangements was held under the chairmanship of District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan, which was attended by station in-charges and heads of all operational wings.

The meeting reviewed detailed arrangements made in light of directives issued by Director General Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Fahad and Regional Director Operations South Arif Khattak to effectively respond to any emergency situation during Eid holidays and further strengthen rescue services across the district.

Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Arif Khan said protection of lives and property and ensuring a prompt emergency response remained the top priority of Rescue 1122. He added that all rescue teams would remain on high alert throughout Eid-ul-Azha to deal with any untoward incident swiftly and efficiently.

During a separate meeting held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan, the district emergency officer recommended a complete ban on bathing in the Indus River, CRBC Canal and other dangerous water points during Eid holidays. He also urged the authorities to make the use of life jackets mandatory during boating in the Indus River and requested immediate enforcement of Section 144 to prevent possible accidents.

The officials said ambulances, fire vehicles and motorbike ambulance services would be deployed at major Eid prayer congregations across the district. In addition, rescue divers and personnel would conduct continuous patrolling around the Indus River, Bhakkar road, Neeli Jheel and the CRBC Canal to prevent water-related incidents.

The Rescue 1122 also appealed to the public to avoid aerial firing, one-wheeling and reckless driving, and to refrain from swimming in rivers, canals and streams.

All types of leave for Rescue 1122 personnel had been cancelled during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure uninterrupted emergency response services throughout the festive period.
