ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on Monday informed the National Assembly that reports circulating on social media regarding the mass deportation of Pakistanis from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were baseless and not supported by any official complaints or data available with the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Responding to questions during Question Hour, he said the government has no official data or verified reports indicating forced deportation of Pakistanis from the United Arab Emirates or other Gulf countries.
He clarified that while isolated deportation cases related to criminal activities, imprisonment, or completion of legal sentences occur from time to time, there is no evidence of any large-scale or forced expulsion of Pakistani nationals from Gulf states.
The minister said negative propaganda on social media regarding overseas Pakistanis had surfaced on several occasions in the past as well, but official channels had not received any fresh reports suggesting forced deportation following recent regional tensions.
Highlighting measures taken for the welfare and protection of overseas Pakistanis, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said the Pakistan Citizen Portal was actively facilitating overseas Pakistanis through mobile applications available on Android and iOS platforms.
He informed the House that more than 1,100 officers, around 6,985 departments and field formations, as well as 86 embassies, high commissions, and consulates worldwide were connected with the portal to address complaints of overseas Pakistanis.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The minister said the Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission was also playing a significant role in resolving complaints related to overseas Pakistanis, especially regarding illegal occupation of their properties and investment-related disputes.
He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, after consultations during a major overseas Pakistanis convention held in Pakistan, had issued immediate directives to address grievances of expatriates, particularly issues related to encroachments and illegal occupation of their properties.
Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said special courts for overseas Pakistanis’ property cases had been established under the Overseas Pakistanis Property Act 2024, adding that special judges had been appointed in consultation with the judiciary to exclusively hear such cases.
He informed the House that 20 special courts had already been established in Punjab, while similar legislation had been passed in Balochistan and was under consideration in the Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies.
Replying to supplementary questions, the minister said community welfare attachés posted abroad regularly monitor issues faced by overseas Pakistanis, including employment disputes, salary issues, and welfare matters.
He added that Pakistani prisoners abroad are also provided legal assistance where required, while the performance of welfare officials is regularly reviewed by the ministry on the basis of service delivery and complaint resolution.
