A record-holder robber was allegedly killed while his accomplices managed to flee away after an encounter with Crime Control Department (CCD) teams in the area of Roshanwala police station

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) A record-holder robber was allegedly killed while his accomplices managed to flee away after an encounter with Crime Control Department (CCD) teams in the area of Roshanwala police station.

Police spokesman said here on Monday that CCD teams led by CCD Lyallpur Division Incharge Inspector Hassan Sadiq Cheema, CCD Iqbal Division Incharge Ali Akram Goraya and CCD Headquarters Incharge Inspector Umar Sarfraz Waraich conducted raid in Chak 236/R-B Kajlay Wala Road for arrest of proclaimed offenders wanted to the police in various cases of robbery, theft, murder, etc. As the CCD teams moved to apprehend the suspects, the armed outlaws allegedly opened fire on law enforcement personnel. The police teams retaliated, leading to an exchange of gunfire that continued for some time.

During encounter, one armed suspect was arrested in an injured condition while his accomplices managed to escape by taking advantage of the situation.

The injured accused was immediately shifted to a hospital for medical treatment but in vain as he later on succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased suspect was identified as Mubasshar alias Bachhi resident of Chak 92-GB Tanda.

According to police records, he was a habitual offender and wanted in more than 50 cases of robbery, dacoity, theft and other serious crimes.

The accused was also wanted in a recent shop robbery case registered within the jurisdiction of Saddar police station and had been under active surveillance by law enforcement agencies due to his alleged involvement in a series of criminal activities.

The police took the body into custody and completed necessary legal formalities while further investigation was under progress for arrest of the escapees, spokesman added.
