Record-holder criminal killed in police encounter

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) A proclaimed offender involved in more than 40 serious criminal cases was killed during an encounter

in the jurisdiction of Garh police station while his four accomplices managed to escape.

According to a police spokesman, the accused was identified as Aslam, who was reportedly wanted by police

in serious crimes, including cattle theft and other offences.

A police team was present near Bhurairi Chowk when they signaled five suspects on two motorcycles to

stop for checking.

However, instead of stopping, the outlaws allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the police party and fled.

The police chased the criminals, during which two accused managed to escape on a motorcycle while the remaining three entered nearby maize fields and continued firing at the police.

The police retaliated and, after the firing stopped, the accused was found lying injured at the scene. He was shifted to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries while his accomplices fled.

The police recovered weapons and a motorcycle from the accused while special team constituted to arrest the other accused.
