ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Khel Das Kohistani on Thursday said the recent diplomatic breakthrough had opened the door to a new era in which peace, development and reconstruction would take precedence over conflict.

Talking to the media outside Parliament House, he appreciated the positive role played by world leaders in promoting dialogue and easing tensions.

He said sincere and visionary leadership guided nations through difficult times, adding that a true leader was one who possessed the ability to steer the country out of crises.

Kohistani said Pakistan had earned international recognition for contributing to the resolution of a major global crisis.

He praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their leadership, saying they had played a significant role in promoting peace in the region and strengthening the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

He said Pakistan's constructive diplomatic efforts had helped avert a major regional conflict and reduce the threat of war, adding that the country's role would be remembered as a landmark contribution to peace.

He said the recent developments had reinforced the global belief that powerful nations could not impose their will on weaker or oppressed countries through force alone.

Expressing optimism about the future, Minister said lasting peace would boost economic activity, accelerate development and help bring down the prices of essential commodities and other goods.

"Now is the time for peace, prosperity and development—not war," he added.
