RDMC strengthens local supplier capability through vendor development program in Nokkundi

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Reko Diq Mining Company (RDMC) has successfully completed its first Vendor Capacity Building Program in Nokkundi, reinforcing its commitment to developing local businesses and increasing the participation of suppliers from Balochistan, particularly District Chagai, in procurement opportunities linked to the Reko Diq Project.

The training initiative equipped local vendors with practical knowledge and skills to better understand RDMC's procurement processes, strengthen compliance with procurement requirements, and enhance their ability to compete effectively for project related business opportunities, said a news release.

The first phase of the program engaged representatives from ten companies located in RDMC's Priority 1 (P1) area, which includes Humai, Mashkicha, Doorbun Cha, Nokcha, Hammal Aap, Kirtaka and Kachao. As part of its ongoing commitment to local supplier development, RDMC will expand the program in the next phase to include suppliers from the Priority 2 (P2) area, comprising Taftan, Sendak, Nokkundi, Yak Mach, Dalbandin, Chaghi Town helping more local businesses develop the capability required to participate in project related procurement opportunities.

Over the course of four days, participants received practical training on RDMC's procurement policies and processes, supplier registration and sourcing through the ARIBA Network, request for quotation (RFQ) procedures, bid preparation, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), logistics requirements, taxation, invoicing and payment procedures, as well as common procurement gaps identified during bid evaluations and ways to avoid them.

The program also gave participants the opportunity to engage directly with RDMC's procurement team, ask questions, and better understand the standards and expectations for supplying to the Reko Diq Project.

The program aimed to create a stronger and more competitive local supplier base by equipping businesses with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare complete and compliant bids, participate in electronic sourcing, and meet RDMC's operational standards.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, RDMC Manager Supply Chain Juan Enslin said, “RDMC is committed to developing a capable, competitive and sustainable local supplier base. Developing local businesses is fundamental to the long-term success of the Reko Diq Project. By helping suppliers from Balochistan, particularly District Chagai, understand our procurement processes, meet our standards and compete successfully for project opportunities, we are strengthening our local supply chain while creating lasting economic opportunities for the region.”

Completion certificates were presented to all participating vendors in recognition of their successful completion of the program.

Sharing his experience as a participant, Murtaza Baloch representing Nokcha based INNOVIX Solution Company, said, "This training has given us a much clearer understanding of RDMC's procurement requirements and bidding processes. The practical sessions were extremely valuable and have given us greater confidence to participate in future opportunities.”

Deputy Commissioner Chaghi, Jahanzaib Noor Shahwani, along with Assistant Commissioner Taftan Abdullah Kashani, also visited the training session, where he was briefed on the program. He appreciated RDMC's efforts to strengthen the capacity of local vendors.

The Vendor Capacity Building Program forms part of RDMC's broader Local Content Strategy, which is focused on building the capability of local businesses, increasing participation in the project supply chain, and creating sustainable economic opportunities for the communities of District Chagai and Balochistan throughout the development and operational life of the Reko Diq Project.
