RDA launches Assets Management Initiative to Protect Vacant Properties and Boost Revenue

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) The Commissioner of Rawalpindi and Director General of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), chaired a high-level briefing today at the RDA Conference Room on a new Assets Management initiative proposed by the Estate Management Directorate.

The meeting was attended by Additional Director General Masood Ahmad, Director Admin Nousheen Israr, Director Finance Masood sb, Chief Planner Tahir Meo, Chief Engineer Anwar Baran, Director Estate Management Madam Maleeha Iesar, and Director LU&BC Iftikhar sb.

During the briefing, Director Estate Management Maleeha Iesar presented the details of the initiative, which focuses on RDA’s vacant properties and open spaces located across 13 housing schemes owned by the Authority.

Objectives of the Initiative is to Protect RDA assets from encroachment and illegal occupation; Generate sustainable revenue for the Authority by developing these properties and Optimize land use within RDA’s existing housing schemes.

Following the presentation, the Commissioner/DG RDA issued clear directives to all participating directors, instructing them to extend full facilitation and support to the Estate Management Directorate. Specifically, he ordered the timely preparation and submission of design drawings for construction on these identified spaces to ensure swift implementation.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with all stakeholders expressing commitment to transforming underutilized land into productive, revenue-generating assets for the Authority.
