RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has finalized arrangements for a mega cleanliness operation across the cantonment during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure timely collection and disposal of animal waste.
The three-day operation will continue throughout Eid, with a response time of 30 minutes fixed for lifting offal and entrails to facilitate prompt service delivery to residents.
According to the details, the arrangements have been completed under the directions of RCB Chief Aamir Rashid, while Additional CEO Zia Hussain and Deputy CEO Nasir Kamal will supervise the operation. Duties of all staff have been assigned in writing.
A central control room has been established at the RCB office, which will remain functional round the clock during Eid days. Dedicated staff have been deployed to manage complaints and monitor field activities.
According to the spokesman, more than 700 sanitation workers and 119 vehicles will participate in the operation to ensure the timely lifting and safe disposal of offal.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Temporary transfer points have been set up at different locations, including old Daewoo Adda on Peshawar Road and Abid Majeed Road, from where waste will be shifted to dumping sites.
Officials said leaves of all relevant staff had been cancelled to ensure uninterrupted services, while Deputy CEO Nasir Kamal would directly monitor the operation.
A modern waste management control room has also been established with a live tracking system to monitor movement and performance of sanitation vehicles in real time.
In view of possible rain, the board has also decided to enforce a rain emergency, with staff and machinery kept on alert to deal with any situation.
RCB has urged citizens, media and civil society to cooperate with sanitation staff and place offal at designated points for timely collection.
