Ration cards distributed among Murree sanitation staff

MURREE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi on Tuesday distributed ration cards among sanitation workers under the “Suthra Punjab” programme, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to their welfare

and city cleanliness during Ramazan.

Addressing the ceremony, attended by department officials and a large number of workers, he said the campaign’s positive impact was visible across the province and that practical steps were being taken under Punjab Government directives to strengthen the sanitation system.

Terming the workers “real heroes of society,” he praised their dedication and said the ration cards aimed to encourage them and support their welfare.

He added that the district administration would continue using all resources to maintain

and improve cleanliness standards.

At the end of the ceremony, workers pledged to continue their services, while citizens welcomed the initiative as a boost to Murree’s beauty and tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, DC Shirazi chaired a meeting to review the “Suthra Punjab” drive and Ramazan arrangements. He directed that sanitation be further organised with special focus on bazaars, mosques, imambargahs and other public places. The meeting was also briefed on the “Ramazan Nigehban Guard” initiative for security, traffic management and provision of basic facilities during the holy month.
