Rangers conduct snap checks, intelligence-based operations across Karachi

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Pakistan Rangers Sindh carried out extensive snap checks and intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in various areas of Karachi in view of the prevailing security situation to maintain law and order and pre-empt potential threats, an official statement said on Friday.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, a total of 232 snap checks were conducted during the operations, along with 14 counter-terrorism actions carried out on the basis of intelligence inputs.

As a result of these operations, nine suspects were apprehended and subsequently handed over to police and other relevant law-enforcement agencies for further legal proceedings.

The spokesperson added that during checking activities, data of 6,078 individuals was verified through surveillance devices to enhance monitoring mechanisms and facilitate the identification of suspicious persons.

The operations, the statement said, were aimed at ensuring public safety and sustaining peace in the metropolis.
