ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday approved the appointment of Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, as a co-opted member of the Daanish Schools Authority, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training notified.
The move, officials said, was intended to strengthen the authority’s vision, boost collaboration on youth development, and expand access to quality education for deserving students across Pakistan.
Rana Mashhood expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s confidence, calling the nomination both an honour and a responsibility.
He pledged to play an active role in refining Daanish Schools’ mission and to fully discharge his responsibilities to promote high quality education and youth development. “The prime minister’s confidence is an honour and a duty,” he said, adding that his participation in the authority would enhance cooperation between Daanish Schools and youth focused initiatives to deliver better educational opportunities to talented students from underprivileged backgrounds.

The Daanish Schools Authority oversees a network of residential institutions aimed at providing quality education and boarding to talented but financially disadvantaged students.
Rana Mashhood’s dual role as chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme positions him to help align youth development strategies with the authority’s educational objectives.
