Ramazan arrangements reviewed across Pindi divisi

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak chaired a meeting to review Ramazan arrangements across the division, directing district administrations to ensure strict price control and transparent relief measures.

Deputy Commissioners of Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Murree, along with heads of line departments, attended the meeting. A detailed briefing was given on Ramazan Sasta Bazaars and Nigehban Dastarkhwans established across the division.

The Commissioner directed that price control remain the top priority during Ramazan, instructing administrative officers to monitor bidding in wholesale markets and ensure continuous patrolling by price control magistrates in critical markets. He emphasized that Deputy Commissioners must directly supervise the distribution of Ramazan Nigehban Cards to ensure merit and transparency.

He directed that trader associations be taken on board and updated price notifications be issued accordingly. Other districts were advised to follow Rawalpindi’s model by engaging the trader community to make essential commodities available at wholesale rates for maximum public relief.

Additional Deputy Commissioners were instructed to conduct daily visits to fruit and vegetable markets, while Deputy Commissioners were directed to visit markets at least two to three times a week.

Seven Ramazan Sasta Bazaars have been established in Rawalpindi district, including at Chohar Chowk and Haidri Chowk. Facilities have also been set up at Committee Chowk in Attock, near the bus stand in Murree, on Pindwal Road and near the MC Office, Talagang in Chakwal, and from Jada to Shandaar Chowk in Jhelum.

Across the division, 50 Ramazan Nigehban Dastarkhwans are being established. Of these, 16 are in Rawalpindi, 12 in Attock, eight in Jhelum, nine in Chakwal and Talagang, and five in Murree, where deserving citizens will be hosted as guests of the Chief Minister at Iftar.

The division-wide target for Ramazan Nigehban Cards has been set at 117,185. Officials informed the meeting that 52,359 cards have been received, of which 40,271 have already been distributed.
