Raise Public Awareness about heatwaves prevention:Chairman District Council Larkana

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) The Chairman of the District Council Larkana, Aijaz Ahmed Laghari, has directed relevant institutions and elected representatives to take necessary measures in response to the Meteorological Department’s forecast of intense heat during the month of May in Sindh province.

He instructed the chairmen and chief officers of Municipal Committees Ratodero and Naudero, the chairmen and town officers of Town Committees Badah/Dokri and Garhi Yasin/Arija, as well as all chairmen and secretaries of Union Councils across Larkana district, to remain alert regarding the upcoming heat wave and take precautionary steps in advance.

The public should be informed about the expected heat and advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and protect themselves from direct sunlight.

Arrangements for cold and clean drinking water should be made at bus stops, markets, schools, colleges, hospitals, and other public places.

People, especially children, women, and the elderly, should be encouraged to consume plenty of water and other cooling items.

He also directed the District Health Officer to ensure advance arrangements in all small and large hospitals of Larkana. In-charge officers, doctors, and staff of hospitals, dispensaries, and pediatric departments should be put on alert and necessary steps should be taken.He emphasized that maximum efforts should be made to raise public awareness about heat-related precautions.
