Quetta admin conducts crackdown on illegal livestock market on Airport Road

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) The Metropolitan Corporation Quetta and the district administration on Wednesday have carried out a decisive operation against an illegal livestock market established along Airport Road, one of the city’s busiest artery.

The action was taken on the special directives of Administrator Quetta Zahid Khan and Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini. The operation was supervised by Assistant Commissioner Sadar Yousuf Hashmi and Anti-Encroachment Zone Incharge Ali Raza Durrani. During the drive, unauthorized goat pens, temporary structures, and encroachments were demolished, clearing the area for smooth traffic flow.

Officials explained that the illegal market had been causing severe disruption to traffic, creating difficulties for commuters, and contributing to sanitation problems and disorder in the locality.

Responding to repeated public complaints, the administration moved swiftly to restore order and ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents.

The Metropolitan Corporation emphasized that similar actions will continue across the city against unlawful encroachments, unauthorized businesses operating on roads, and blockages of public pathways. Authorities also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the administration and refrain from occupying government property, roads, and public spaces illegally.
