Punjab University wins All Pakistan Inter-University Tournament title

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) University of Punjab Lahore has clinched the title of All Pakistan Inter-University Tournament after defeating rival in the final match while Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) secured second position and Superior University finished third.

The concluding ceremony and prize distribution event were held at Government College University Faisalabad where teams and players from various universities participated enthusiastically.

The tournament administration, led by the Organizing Secretary and Director Sports, efficiently managed all arrangements and ensured successful conduct of the national-level event.

GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam distributed trophies and prizes among the position-holder teams and outstanding players during the ceremony.

Representing GCUF, Hafiz Rehan along with the team manager received the second-position trophy from the vice chancellor amid applause from participants and spectators.

Speaking on the occasion, university officials including Amar Nawaz highlighted the importance of sports activities for promotion of healthy competition, discipline and youth engagement in positive pursuits.

They said that it is a historic achievement for Faisalabad as Government College University Faisalabad has hosted the All Pakistan Inter-University Tournament for the first time in history of the city.

The university administration announced free education for players who have won medals at national, provincial or divisional levels and demonstrated outstanding performance in sports competitions.

GCUF officials said that the initiative aims at encouraging talented athletes and promoting sports culture among youth across the country.
