Punjab social welfare secretary visits Sialkot welfare institutions

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Punjab Secretary for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Saira Umar visited the Social Welfare

Complex here on Thursday and reviewed the facilities and welfare services being provided

at Sanat Zar, Darul Aman and the Model Children Home.

She was accompanied by Gujranwala Division Director Social Welfare Irshad Waheed,

while Deputy Director Social Welfare Sialkot Sharif Ghumman briefed the delegation on

the performance of the complex, ongoing welfare projects and services being extended

to deserving people.

During the visit, the secretary inspected handmade crafts, decorative items and other

products prepared by girls undergoing vocational training.

Appreciating their skills,

she directed the authorities to further strengthen training programmes aimed at promoting

vocational development.

Expressing satisfaction over the facilities available at the institutions, Saira Umar said the

welfare and rehabilitation of vulnerable and underprivileged segments of society remained

among the Punjab government's top priorities.

She also planted a sapling under the plantation campaign and stressed the need for extensive

tree plantation to protect the environment.
