LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Punjab Police have spent more than Rs874.23 million on welfare initiatives for police personnel and their families during the current year.
A spokesperson said on Wednesday that the force continues to take measures for the well-being of its employees, disbursing over Rs268.9 million as educational scholarships for children of police personnel. He said more than Rs240 million were provided as wedding grants for daughters of police employees, while over Rs134.9 million were released for medical treatment of personnel and their families. Similarly, more than Rs112.
9 million were disbursed as retirement grants, while over Rs88.8 million were provided to families under maintenance allowance. Rs21.85 million were given under funeral expenses, while more than Rs5.96 million were released as immediate financial assistance to police personnel.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the process of addressing problems of employees and their families through the Police Welfare Fund and other resources would continue. He added that welfare initiatives are being further strengthened to provide maximum facilities to the police force and their families.
