Punjab Police on high alert

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) On the instructions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem, Punjab Police remained on high alert while performing security duties during Christian worship and prayer programs in churches across Lahore and the province.

The IG Punjab directed Regional Police Officers and District Police Officers to enhance security at churches. Supervisory officers were instructed to personally inspect security arrangements at churches and other sensitive locations.

Additional police personnel and snipers were deployed at key churches, while teams from the Dolphin Squad, PRU, and Elite Force conducted effective patrolling in surrounding areas. Search and sweep operations were also carried out in Christian localities and other sensitive sites.

The IGP urged religious scholars, the Christian community, and peace committees to actively promote interfaith harmony while emphasizing that police officers remain vigilant against any miscreant activity.
