Punjab Police deport over 35,000 illegally residing foreign nationals

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Punjab Police have deported over 35,000 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals, from across the province, including Lahore, as part of the ongoing repatriation process, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The spokesperson said the repatriation drive was continuing across Punjab, adding that 72 illegally residing foreign nationals were currently being housed at various holding centres before their deportation.

He said those repatriated included more than 14,000 men, 7,138 women and 14,529 children. Of the total deportees, 11,047 were holders of Proof of Residence (PoR) cards, 11,135 possessed Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC), while 13,537 were foreign nationals residing illegally in the country.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem said security remained on high alert across the province and the repatriation of all illegally residing foreign nationals was being carried out in accordance with the government's policy.

He said Punjab Police were implementing the repatriation process in line with international laws while ensuring effective security arrangements throughout the province.
