Punjab Police have accelerated the deportation of illegal foreign residents across the province and deported 32,588 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Punjab Police have accelerated the deportation of illegal foreign residents across the province and deported 32,588 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens.

According to the spokesperson, the deportation process is being carried out swiftly and effectively in Lahore and other districts of the province in accordance with international laws and human rights principles. At present, 90 illegal residents are being kept at various holding points as the process continues.

The spokesperson said that among the deported individuals, 12,273 were men, 6,661 women and 13,654 children.

Of the total, 10,419 had proof of residence, 11,098 were holders of Afghan Citizen Cards, while 11,071 were other illegal foreign nationals residing unlawfully in the province.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said that the entire province remained on high security alert and the deportation of illegal residents was being ensured under all circumstances. He added that Punjab Police were implementing the government’s policy on deportation of illegal residents in line with international laws, while ensuring that the process was conducted with full respect for human rights.
