LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Punjab Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Law and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique on Friday said that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured across the province on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, adding that illegal organisations would not be allowed to collect sacrificial skins.
He was presiding over a meeting of the Provincial Intelligence Committee held at the Home Department to review the law and order situation and security arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the meeting, Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi briefed participants on the latest law and order situation across Punjab. Representatives of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch and other law enforcement agencies also attended the meeting, while all commissioners and Regional Police Officers (RPOs) joined through video link.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said that the law and order situation in the province was satisfactory and comprehensive security measures were being finalised for Eid-ul-Adha.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said instructions had been issued for the prompt disposal of applications related to the collection of sacrificial skins.
He reiterated that illegal organisations would not be permitted to collect sacrificial hides and said strict monitoring would be carried out in this regard.
The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram. Khawaja Salman Rafique said the role of religious scholars and peace committees was vital in maintaining peace and harmony during the holy month.
Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi said the Punjab government was making comprehensive security arrangements for both Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram-ul-Haram. He added that strict action was being taken against elements attempting to disturb peace and law and order.
Additional Secretary Internal Security Maham Asif and other senior officers were also present at the meeting.
