Punjab govt committed to field-based governance: Dr Ehsan Bhutta

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta on Tuesday said

the Punjab government was fully committed to promoting field-based governance,

timely completion of development projects and effective inter-departmental

coordination to ensure better and quality public service delivery.

He expressed these views while addressing Auqaf officers during his visit to

Sialkot and Gujrat districts.

During his visit to Sialkot, he chaired a detailed meeting with the deputy commissioner

and other senior district administration officers. The meeting reviewed the progress

of ongoing development schemes, quality standards and timely utilization of allocated

funds. He directed that transparency, quality and public welfare should remain top

priorities in the execution of all projects.

Dr Ehsan instructed the relevant authorities to adopt an effective monitoring mechanism

to avoid unnecessary delays in projects and ensure achievement of all targets within

the stipulated timeframe. On the occasion, he reviewed arrangements and facilities

at important religious sites in Sialkot, particularly the shrine of Hazrat Imam Ali-ul-Haq (RA).

Later in Gujrat, he inspected important religious and historical sites, including the shrine

of Hazrat Shah Daula (R.A), Darbar Kawan Wali Sarkar and the under-construction

mosque near the Shah Daula shrine. He directed the authorities concerned to complete

all development and beautification work on time and according to high standards to

facilitate visitors and devotees.

Dr Ehsan Bhutta said that enhancing institutional capacity and improving governance

standards were important components of the Punjab government’s reform agenda.

He stressed the need for further strengthening inter-departmental coordination, prompt

resolution of public issues and strict implementation of government directives in all projects.

The secretary said that field visits were an essential part of the governance model as they

enabled direct assessment of ground realities, effective monitoring and improvement in public

facilities.

At the conclusion of the visit, he reaffirmed the Punjab government’s commitment to better

governance, accelerated development and public welfare.
