Punjab Governor inaugurates solar-powered water scheme in Jand to boost rural supply

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan inaugurated a solar-powered water supply scheme in Langar village, Jand tehsil of Attock district on Sunday, reaffirming the government’s focus on improving basic infrastructure in rural areas.

A formal inauguration ceremony was held on the occasion, attended by a large number of local elders and residents. The governor said the development of Attock district remained among his top priorities, adding that concrete steps were being taken to ensure the provision of essential public services.

He emphasised that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right of every citizen, noting that the newly launched solar scheme is part of broader efforts to address long-standing water supply challenges in underdeveloped areas.

Highlighting his party’s development vision, the governor said the Pakistan Peoples Party believes in public service and continues to promote uplift projects across neglected regions. He added that he is fully aware of the difficulties faced by the people of Attock and assured that practical measures would continue to be implemented to resolve their issues.
