Punjab government top priority to maintain peace, promote religious harmony in Sargodha:SACM

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (SACM) Punjab for CM Inspection Team Shoaib Mirza on Thursday said that maintaining peace, promoting religious harmony, and ensuring the comfort of mourners remained the top priorities of the Punjab government.

He said this during his visit Sargodha to review security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and inspect facilities being provided to mourners. Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry was also present.

During the visit, Shoaib Mirza conducted a detailed inspection of the route of the main 9th Muharram procession. He reviewed security measures, cleanliness arrangements, medical facilities, and other services established for the convenience of participants.

The SACM said comprehensive arrangements had been finalized to facilitate mourners, including the provision of cold drinking water, healthcare services, and other essential amenities, adding that a heavy police deployment had been ensured to provide foolproof security for Muharram processions and religious gatherings.

He noted that the police and district administration were in constant coordination with procession and Majlis organizers to address any issues promptly.

He also appreciated the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and inter-sect harmony demonstrated by religious scholars and members of different schools of thought in the district.

The organizers of Muharram processions and Majalis expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the government and district administration.

On the occasion, the DC said that on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all possible measures were being taken to ensure the provision of the best facilities and a peaceful environment for mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.
