Punjab formally launches ‘Rising Star Portal’

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Secretary Youth Affairs and sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman on Friday inaugurated the Punjab Rising Star Portal, a digital platform aimed at identifying, registering and nurturing talented athletes and young achievers from across the province.

The portal was launched at a ceremony held at Punjab Stadium, attended by students from various colleges and universities. Addressing the event, Fazalur Rehman said the platform would enable young people to register their achievements and receive professional training and support from the Youth Affairs and Sports Department.

He urged talented youth, particularly from remote areas of Punjab, to register on the portal so their abilities could be recognized and promoted.

The secretary also held an interactive "Meet with GenZ" session with students from several educational institutions, during which participants discussed youth development, innovation and the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI). He said regular engagement with young people was essential for formulating policies that address their needs.

Officials of the Punjab Information Technology board (PITB) briefed participants on the portal's features and objectives. Additional Secretary Shabbir Hussain Cheema, Director Admin Abid Shaukat and Director Youth Affairs M Fahad also attended the ceremony, while certificates were distributed among participating students at the conclusion of the event.
