BAHAWALNAGAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Salma Butt, visited Bahawalnagar on Tuesday to meticulously review arrangements and public facilities during the holy month of Ramazan. Meanwhile, she chaired a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner to discuss the comprehensive Ramazan Nigehban Package, availability of essential food items, price control measures, and steps being taken to provide relief to citizens. Officers from relevant departments were also present during the meeting.
During the visit, Ms. Butt strongly directed authorities to ensure maximum relief for the public in line with the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She emphasized that strict action against profiteering would continue throughout Ramazan and urgently instructed officials to maintain high standards at all public service points.
Moreover, the special assistant visited the Ramazan Nigehban Control Room and inspected arrangements at the Nigehban campsite and cash management centers.
In addition, she monitored the Nigehban Ramazan Bazaar, checking prices, quality, and availability of essential food items.
On this occasion, while talking to the media, she assured the public that affordable and quality food would be made available at Ramazan bazaars effectively under the chief minister’s directives.
Ms. Butt also conducted inspections of open markets from Manchanabad Chowk to Police Lines, Commercial College Chowk, Bahawali Chowk, and Fawara Chowk, verifying price lists and implementation of official rates. She also reviewed arrangements at the Ramazan Nigehban Dastarkhwan set up at DHQ Hospital Bahawalnagar and expressed complete satisfaction with the facilities, calling for continued vigilance to ensure smooth services throughout the holy month.
