CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has seized 870 kilograms of illegally processed animal fat rendering oil, along with storage drums and a transport vehicle, thwarting an attempt to supply the unfit product for human consumption in Chiniot, officials said on Monday.

Acting on the directives of Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed, PFA food safety teams carried out a raid near Tehsil Chowk and recovered tins of animal fat-based oil from vehicle registration number FSL-7654. Authorities registered a case against the suspect for operating without the required license and failing to maintain mandatory records.

According to the PFA spokesperson, the recovered oil had not been treated with the compulsory methanol dye required for fat-rendering products.

Officials said the oil, produced from animal fat and impurities, is legally intended only for industrial use, including biodiesel production and soap manufacturing, and converting it into edible cooking oil constitutes a serious offence.

Punjab Food Authority Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected food adulteration or illegal food processing activities by calling the PFA helpline at **1223**, stressing that strict action would continue against those endangering public health.
