SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Wednesday announced that Punjab Chief Minister had approved the Safe City Phase-II project for Sargodha district under which 1,860 modern surveillance cameras will be installed across all union councils.

According to s spokesperson for the DC office here, locations for installation of the cameras have been identified in all 186 union councils of the district, with eight to 10 sites selected in each union council. He said the project would ensure round-the-clock monitoring of crime hotspots, traffic points, government buildings, hospitals, religious places and other crowded areas to strengthen security and improve law enforcement.

The DC said the cameras would be equipped with modern 4g and GPS technology and remain operational 24 hours a day to support effective surveillance and crime prevention efforts throughout the district.

He further stated that the tender for the project would be opened on May 19, while the estimated completion period had been set at three to four months.

Chaudhry expressed confidence that the project would significantly improve security, monitoring and crime control systems in Sargodha after completion.
