According to the PA Secretariat, the session has been summoned by Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan on the requisition of the opposition.

A formal notification of the session has been issued by the Assembly Secretariat, after which the process of completing the arrangements for the session has been started.
