Public relief our top priority, strict action will be taken against profiteers: Sarmad Saleem Akram

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) “Providing relief to citizens is our top priority and no one will be allowed to engage in profiteering,” Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram said this during his visit to price monitoring desks and the complaints cell established in the city in connection with Ramadan.

The Deputy Commissioner visited various price monitoring desks set up across Abbottabad, including Cantt Bazaar, Sabzi Mandi and Band Khuh Chowk, where he inspected complaint registers and reviewed action taken on public complaints. He directed officials to ensure immediate and effective action on citizens complaints and strictly enforce official price lists.

He ordered indiscriminate action against profiteers and those violating government rates, warning that strict legal

proceedings would be initiated against violators.

He also urged citizens to register their complaints at the monitoring desks to ensure timely relief.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner issued on-spot instructions to remove parking from the Main Bazaar to improve traffic flow and facilitate the public.

He further directed officials to ensure the availability of essential commodities at official prices throughout Ramadan, reiterating that the district administration would take all necessary steps to protect citizens from overcharging.

Additional Director Local Government, Tehsil Officer Regulation TMA and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
