PU signs LoI with Chinese institution to boost research, student exchange

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Punjab University (PU) and China’s Sichuan Vocational College of Cultural Industries

on Wednesday signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) aimed at strengthening academic and

research cooperation and promoting international educational collaboration between

the two institutions.

The signing ceremony was held at Punjab University in the presence of Vice President

of Sichuan Vocational College of Cultural Industries Mr. Chen Jinggui, Dean Faculty of

Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Mehboob Hussain, Principal College of Art and Design

Prof Dr Samina Nasim, Director External Linkages Prof Dr Yaamina Salman and

other officials.

Under the agreement, both institutions will explore opportunities for faculty and researcher

exchanges, student mobility programmes, organisation of seminars, workshops and academic

conferences, establishment of joint training bases and promotion of scientific research cooperation.

The two sides also agreed to undertake mutually agreed academic and educational initiatives

in future on the principles of reciprocity, equality and mutual respect.

Representatives of both institutions said that international collaborations play an important

role in knowledge exchange, academic development and strengthening educational ties

between Pakistan and China.

They said the partnership would help create international opportunities for students and faculty

members while contributing to academic innovation and cultural understanding between the

two countries.
